Meet the team

Olivia Thompson

Founder & Writer

Graduating from the University of East Anglia with a BSc in Biological Sciences, Olivia founded InfectiousBiology after falling in love with communicating science to people of all ages and academic backgrounds.

She has previously worked in Norwich helping out with events such as Pint of Science festival, putting on demonstrations at primary schools for their science fairs and mentoring A level Biology students.

During her final year of university she was fortunate enough to work in the Wheeler lab at UEA working on neural crest populations in Xenopus laevis. Helping to rekindle a love for research and gain an appreciation for the huge amount of work that goes into it.
